Evil Omen: Women, House and Horse ?

some rumor - hadiths ?**

The other version, narrated by Sahl Bin Sad Saidi, says, “IF there is any evil omen in anything, then it is in the woman, the horse and the house,” which seems more probable. And then another version, narrated by Ursa says, “…Apostle said, ‘IF AT ALL there is evil omen, it is in the horse, the woman and the house.” A lady is to be warded off. And the Statement of Allah: ‘Truly, among your wives and your children, there are enemies for you (i.e may stop you from the obedience of Allah)’ (64.14)” [Bukhari 007.062.029]. The Prophet is not saying that women, horses and houses are bad as other Ahadiths amply show that he had all three and was quite happy with all three of those things ( via contreversial islam )

Please note the Hadith below which rule out the belief in omen
Sahih Bukhari :: Volume 8 :: Book 76 :: Hadith 479
Narrated Ibn Abbas: Allah's Messenger said, "Seventy thousand people of my followers will enter Paradise without accounts, and they are those who do not practice Ar-Ruqya and do not see an evil omen in things, and put their trust in their Lord.
and with regards to the Hadith quoted in the question, the most authentic opinion of the scholars is that in that hadith the Prophet (PBUH) was only taking about the beliefs of the ignorant people. and the following narration confirms it.
Muhammad bin Raashid narrated to us on the authority of Makhool, it was said to 'Ayesha that Abu Huraira says: that the Messenger of Allaah said: “Pessimism is found in three things: in a house, a woman and a horse.”.. Ayesha said: Abu Huraira did not memorize this, because when he entered, the Messenger of Allaah -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam - was saying: May Allaah curse the Jews; they say: “Without doubt pessimism is in a house, a woman and a horse,' so he heard the end of the hadeeth, and he never heard the beginning of it.” [Musnad of al-Tayalisi, 1/215]
so it is clear from that narration from Ayesha (i.e the wife of Prophet (pbuh) completes the hadith quoted in the question.

The correct view is that all types of belief in bad omens are condemned, and that no kinds of women, houses or animals can cause harm or bring benefit except by Allaah’s leave. Allaah is the Creator of both good and evil. A person may be tested with a wife who has a bad attitude, or a house in which there is a lot of problems, in which case it is prescribed for him to rid himself of these things, fleeing from the decree of Allaah to the decree of Allaah, and so as to avoid falling into pessimism and belief in bad omens which is forbidden.
Al-Bukhaari (5094) and Muslim, (2252) narrated that Ibn ‘Umar said: Mention of bad omens was made in the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “If bad omens are to be found in anything, it is in a house, a woman and a horse.” The key word here is “IF.” But it does not mean that the three mentioned are, in and of themselves, evil

The correct hadees is
Narrated Sahl bin Sad: Allah’s Apostle said, “If at all there is bad omen, it is in the horse, the woman, and the house.” (Sahi Bukahri,Book #62, Hadith #32).
This is all about IF’But the fact is that there is no evil omen.
Abdullah b. ‘Umar reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying. There is no transitive disease, no ill omen, and bad luck is lound in the house, or wife or horse. ( Sahih Muslim,Book #026, Hadith #5524)
And women and horses were mentioned as they could be the source of evil omen just because they are beautified in the eyes of people.Anything beautified becomes the topmost priority and hence can put a person in trial.Beautified for people is the love of that which they desire – of women and sons, heaped-up sums of gold and silver, fine branded horses, and cattle and tilled land. That is the enjoyment of worldly life, but Allah has with Him the best return (3:14)
